PS Audio PMG Signature 512 DAC now available
From the folks that brought us the first high performance standalone DAC, comes their latest, highly anticipated PS Audio PMG Signature 512 DAC!
“At its core is the PureStream DSD512 engine, converting any form of digital audio into a pure 8X DSD stream—no PCM, no decimation, no compromise. That stream feeds our SpectraWave 64-Tap Sequencer, lowering noise and distortion while perfectly time-aligning the signal. From there, it flows into a state-of-the-art, direct-coupled analog output stage.” - PS Audio.

PSI Active Bass Traps installed in our Reference room
And boy do they work!
We recently installed two PSI Audio AVAA active bass traps in our main reference room with great results. We are now achieving a more “controlled” or “easier to listen to” presentation. The results are that we can enjoy music without listening fatigue and greater accuracy. Low frequencies particularly, when uncontrolled, can mask other sounds and frequencies. So the entire range of frequencies is improved upon.
With a flick of a button, or click on the mobile app, we are able to switch them off and back on in a demo, so our customers can hear for themselves.
Here’s what some of the industries’ reviewers had to say:
“Listening to a wide variety of music, with special emphasis on bass test tracks, I again felt the AVAAs C214 made an immediately noticeable difference. The more important point was that the difference was always an improvement. With the AVAAs, bass was better balanced and more natural. This naturalness shows up with bass sounding more open and detailed, with a more accurate sense of air and harmonic definition.”
Tom Martin The Absolute Sound
“These really work!
When I switched in the AVAA traps, space expanded in all dimensions. The crowd was still raucous, but now it was mostly behind me and to my sides. The performers, still up front, were now spread wider than my room, and their individual contributions (voices, guitar, drums) were distinct and full. Finally, I was able to experience the electricity of this event fully and appreciate Seigén Ono’s reputation.”

Fresh from the Press Release:
QUAD’s finest-ever integrated amplifier
Five years in the making, QUAD is finally ready to launch its most accomplished range of audio
electronics yet: the Platina Series, hi-fi’s new gold standard, with the Platina Integrated at its heart
Cambridgeshire, England -- Of all the British high-end hi-fi brands, QUAD (an acronym for Quality Unit
Amplifier Domestic) boasts the most distinguished of histories. Across the decades, the company has
delivered many innovations leading to products considered to be the best of their time – valve
amplifiers, electrostatic and dynamic loudspeakers, and solid-state electronics that took nascent
transistor technology and elevated it to new sonic heights.
Since QUAD’s first transistor-based stereo amplifier – the iconic 33/303 pre/power amp, introduced in
1967 – the company has revised and updated its solid-state audio electronics across successive
generations, continuing to innovate whilst carefully maintaining ‘QUAD DNA’. All of which has led to
this: the Platina Integrated, QUAD’s finest integrated amplifier yet.
The culmination of a five-year R&D project, the Platina Series is QUAD’s new flagship range of audio
electronics. Visitors to international audio shows since 2023 may have had the opportunity to
experience prototypes of the Platina Integrated, but the amp was still in development (alongside other
Platina components) and QUAD did not want to put it into production until the design was perfected.
Now, the Platina Integrated is ready to launch, alongside a matching network player called Platina
Stream. A third component – a CD transport – will join the range in 2026.

DCS Varèse Exclusive Irish Launch
In association with Absolute Sounds, Cloney Audio is delighted to launch the state of the art dCS Varèse digital music system.
Attendees will not only get to experience Varèse, but also hear some of the finest audio components on the planet – across two systems.
We are delighted that staff from Absolute Sounds and dCS Managing Director, David Steven will be joining us to tell the full story of this ground-breaking exploration of the frontiers of digital audio.
Room One
The Varèse system includes the Core, User Interface, Mono DACs and Clock all incorporating radical improvements on dCS’s core technologies such as the Ring Dac, and with new innovations never heard before. These include, ACTUS – a bespoke connection system that radically simplifies and improves connections between the Core, Transport, User Interface, Clock and dual mono DACs that make up the Varèse system. And speaking of clocking, which is a critical part of all digital audio, Varèse features TOMIX, a patented clocking technology exclusive to dCS.
In fact, we are hosting several Irish debuts at our event. We are offering listeners an opportunity to hear Varèse express its full colours through the Dan D’Agostino Relentless 1600 power amps (yes, 1,600 watts per channel, and that is just into 8 ohms!) and their matching Relentless Preamp.
Giving voice to the Varèse/Relentless will be the magnificent Wilson Audio Alexx V loudspeakers in exclusive Biarritz White finish.
For mains and signal cabling we will be using Transparent Audio.
Room Two
In keeping with the dCS theme of this exclusive event, we will also be showcasing the dCS Lina DAC X in our second room. The Lina DAC X will be partnered with the recently released Dan D’Agostino Pendulum integrated amplifier, with cables provided by a new entry to the Absolute Sounds portfolio, the Dutch brand Ikigai’s Sugure line. For speakers we will be using the Wilson Audio Tune Tots complete with Stereo Loki subwoofers.
