Making Your Smart Home a Reality

We have a tried and tested process to ensure that your Smart Home needs are met efficiently and smoothly. We have refined our methods and approaches across hundreds of projects, large and small, in Ireland and all over Europe.

Our three key stages are described below: Design, Build, Commissioning & Support.

STAGE 1: Design

The most important part of any new build or renovation is getting the design right. Not only does this include the system design but more importantly, the cabling infrastructure. We will take you through the process step by step to ensure you get the system that is right for you.

Consultation

Simply call us or send an email to Alan or Tom with a short brief and a set of plans if available. We will then arrange to meet on site, at our showrooms or by video link to discuss your requirements in more detail. We constantly keep up-to-date with all the latest technologies and offerings from service providers and we will advise you accordingly.

System Design and Quotation

We will design a system that best suits your needs and budget. This includes, all of the relevant components and the critical infrastructural elements such as cabling, racks etc.

We will provide a detailed quotation for your consideration.

Cabling Design

Once the project has been agreed, we will prepare a cable schedule and issue drawings for 1st fix cabling to take place. In most cases, we will also supply cable to site (CAT6, Speaker, Fibre). We will then meet with your electrical contractor to walk through the schedule.

STAGE 2: Build

We will monitor the build process from 1st fix electrics all the way through to project completion to ensure everything runs smoothly on site.

Site Meetings

We will attend relevant site meetings to keep up-to-date with any on-site changes throughout the build process.

1st Fix (Electrical Contractor)

We will keep in constant contact with the electrical contractors on site to ensure they have all the information and cables they require to complete 1st fix wiring. We will then visit the site to inspect the cabling prior to walls/ceilings being finished so that any mistakes can be rectified.

2nd Fix (Cloney Audio)

During 2nd fix, Cloney Audio technicians will attend site to install ceiling speakers and organise all AV cabling. We would also install a dedicated equipment rack and all cables would be identified, tested and labelled. Cable documentation would be left on site for system commissioning and reference.

 STAGE 3: Commissioning & Support

The final commissioning stage of any project is crucial, as even the best systems on the market can disappoint if they are not set up correctly. Our tried and tested techniques will ensure every system we install will perform exactly as you expect it to.

System Install

Once the build is nearing completion, our expert technicians will install all the remaining hardware (TV’s, Home Cinema etc.). All custom programming will also be carried out at this stage. When it comes to lighting systems, each one is unique and a ‘base level’ of programming would initially be carried out and then tailored to suit each room.

Training

Once your system has been fully commissioned, our technicians will give detailed demonstrations to all users on how to use every aspect of the system. Operation and Maintenance documentation will also be left on site for reference purposes.

Support and Aftercare

We take great pride in our customer service and our team are always on hand to assist with any queries. If there is an issue that cannot be resolved over the phone, we will schedule a service call (out of hours house calls may be arranged if the matter is urgent). We will provide remote and on-site support free-of-charge for the first 12 months. We will gladly discuss your ongoing support requirements.

Are you ready for the Future?

Whether building a new house or undertaking major renovations you should consider laying necessary foundations for Smart Home services: not only the ones will use straight away, but also others you may wish to avail in the future. The cost of additional infrastructure (wiring, etc.) is very small in comparison with the cost and disruption of having to go back to scratch later on. Some examples of the services in question are:

  • Blanket coverage of Wi-Fi

  • High-definition TV around your home

  • Ability to change TV provider easily (Sky, UPC, Eircom)

  • Ease of integration of emerging technologies (Netflix, Apple TV, Amazon PDI)

  • Integrate high-quality entertainment system around the house

  • Architectural enhancement of property with smart lighting, blinds and shading controls

  • Infrastructure that can take building management system (BMS) - from Control4 which can control lighting, audio-visual, security etc.
